Today Deus Ex turns 10 years old! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
On June 22nd, 2000 the first cyberpunk-themed action role-playing
Deus Ex game, developed by Ion Storm and published by Eidos Interactive,
was released to the public.
It was released on Windows PC at the moment and a month later was later ported to the Macintosh,
as well the PlayStation 2 game console, under the title Deus Ex: The Conspiracy.
Loki Games worked on a Linux version of the game, but the company went out of business before releasing it.
The game received almost worldwide critical and industry acclaim, including being named
"Best PC Game of All Time" in PC Gamer's Top 100 PC Games and in a poll carried out by
UK gaming magazine PC Zone.
It was a winner of Game of the Year awards, drawing praise for its pioneering
designs in player choice and multiple narrative paths.
As of April 23, 2009 the game has sold more than 1 million copies!

ABOUT DEUS EX
The year is 2052 and the world is a dangerous and chaotic place. Terrorists operate
openly - killing thousands; drugs, disease and pollution kill even more. The world's
economies are close to collapse and the gap between the insanely wealthy and the
desperately poor grows ever wider. Worst of all, an ages old conspiracy bent on
world domination has decided that the time is right to emerge from the shadows and
take control. No one believes they exist. No one but you.
